Startup Palm Beach holding Startup Weekend, BarCamp, DemoDay and more

Startup Weekend is back – and it will kick off a week of events in Palm Beach County.

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of  entrepreneurs learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. There have been more than 1,800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014.

Startup-Weekend1All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas  and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Put on by Startup Palm Beach, this event will be held July 18-20 at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Find full details and register here. A handful of 50 percent off discount tickets are available with the code "StartingGate."

Chris Callahan, president of Startup Palm Beach, said the Startup Weekend will kick off a week of events planned for the growing startup community, including a BarCamp and a DemoDay, and hopes to draw support from Miami-Dade and Broward. Here is the schedule for Entrepreneur Week:
