The national non-profit organization Girl Develop It has launched in Miami, with a mission of increasing the female software development workforce. "My goal is to empower women by offering them a nurturing learning environment where they can be exposed to mentors and role models as they learn the computer programming skills they need to build a lucrative future in what is increasingly becoming one of the most in-demand professions, software development." says Miami Chapter Leader Ibis Arrastia. Classes began Monday at The LAB Miami in Wynwood. Girl Develop It offers multiple classes throughout the year in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ruby, Python, Java, Github, Android app development and iOS app development.
